The objective of the seminar course is to acquaint students with contemporary developments and debates in laws relating to sexual offences. The focus will be on discussing, debating, and critiquing the issues/crimes identified. The aim is to equip students to reflect critically on issues that they might already be familiar with, and to develop skills required for a career in criminal law policy, academics as well as practice. The philosophical foundations of the law, judicial interpretation and reasons behind judicial interpretation of core concepts, and the impact of such interpretation on the development and application of the law will be critically examined.
