Shruthi completed her B.A. LL.B from University Law College (2014). Her interest in child rights grew during her days of internship with the Karnataka State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (Dec 2010 – Jan 2011), as well her exposure to a two day seminar on the right to education held by CCL.

She has been associated with CCL since her graduation in 2014. She has contributed to the rulemaking process for the Karnataka Language Learning Act of 2015 and  Karnataka Policy and Action Plan on prevention of Child and Adolescent Labour (2017). She was part of the team that conceptualized and conducted a week-long Certificate Course on Child Development. She was involved in studies looking into the implementation of Right of Children to Free and compulsory Education Act in the State of Karnataka, legal dimensions of ‘Devadasi dedication’ and application of POCSO Act in these cases among others. She currently holds the position of Project Coordinator in the right to food and child protection programmes in the Centre. She was a member of the Academic Council of Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society, GoK. Her area of interest is in child rights and the interlinkage between the various rights of children. She believes that rights of children cannot be viewed in isolation, and views violations of child rights as a domino effect and wishes to come up with practical solutions to curb these violations.
