“Climate Change – Policy and Science” will be unique in the country to offer a combination of science and public policy on climate change. It will hold significant value for NLSIU students due to the multifaceted nature of this global issue. Climate change intersects with various legal disciplines, including:

• Environmental Law: Students will understand the legal frameworks governing emissions, pollution control, and environmental impact assessments.

• Human Rights Law: The course will explore the displacement, resource scarcity, and other human rights concerns arising from climate change.

• International Law: International treaties, such as the Paris Agreement, and their implementation strategies will be examined.

• Constitutional Law: The course will delve into the legal basis for government action on climate change and potential rights infringements during policy implementation.
