AI Video-Making Competition to Commemorate National Consumer Day | Chair on Consumer Law and Practice, NLSIU

The Chair on Consumer Law and Practice (CLAP) at NLSIU, Bengaluru, is organising an AI Video-Making Competition to commemorate the celebration of National Consumer Day, 2025 (December 24). This AI Video-Making Competition endeavours to stimulate interest and foster growth amongst students to explore and engage with contemporary and seminal issues in the field of consumer law and policy.

Theme for 2025: AI for Unmasking Dark Patterns in Digital Design

You may create any other video to create awareness about core consumer rights, such as the right to safety, information, choice, and redressal, while addressing common misconceptions and guiding viewers on how to make informed purchasing decisions. Use your creativity to show the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its use in unmasking dark patterns and share them with us.

This competition invites participants to explore the use of AI and how it can be used to transform the unmasking of dark patterns in digital design. Submit your original idea created by AI-generated prompts, platform workflow and the final video that explores how AI could transform technology training and education.

How to Participate?

1. Review the Competition Guidelines, Eligibility and Evaluation Criteria below.
2. Present your original AI prompts and digital artwork or video creations.
3. Submit your entry through our Google Form (provided below under Guidelines).

Competition Guidelines

1. Based on the competition theme, you are free to use your creative vision to interpret how AI will transform the unmasking of dark patterns in digital design.
2. Submission Requirement: You will need to include the workflow, original prompts, and platform in your submission.
3. Accepted Formats: Upload your video file in MP4 or submit a link from a video platform (e.g., YouTube).
4. Video Duration: Between 45 seconds to 1 minute.
5. Minimum Video Resolution: 1080p
6. Submissions are limited to a maximum of three entries per participant.
7. Competition Deadline: All submissions should be made through the Google Form by October 31, 2025, 11:59 pm.
8. Competition Awards to be Announced: December 24, 2025.
9. Participants are responsible for ensuring that all content complies with relevant laws and regulations.
10. Entries must be original video content, created by the participant(s), and should not infringe upon any third-party rights.

Eligibility

To ensure wider reach and opportunity, the competition will be open to all, including students, academics, professionals, government officials, members of consumer fora, Voluntary Consumer Organisations (VCOs)/ NGOs, etc.

Please note that user-friendly AI tools can be used and no advanced technical knowledge is required.

Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, and adherence to the theme by the technology training team.

The winning entries will be showcased by CLAP during National Consumer Day celebrations to be held on December 24, 2025.
