Mohan has been associated with the Centre for Labour Studies and NLSIU as a Visiting Fellow since 2017.

He worked for over a decade with industry, including private and public sector organisations, followed by over two decades with trade unions on issues of collective bargaining and business and sector analyses.

He has a graduate degree in engineering from IIT Madras and a post graduate degree in management from IIM Calcutta.
