Geetanjali is passionate about advancing social justice and addressing structural inequality. Her current work focusses on labour, informality, and climate justice, with a particular interest in developing inclusive and equitable approaches to urban and environmental governance. She is deeply committed to grounding research in lived realities and translating insights into policy and action, with a focus on centering marginalised groups in development discourse.

Previously at Hasiru Dala, an organisation working towards social justice for waste pickers in Bengaluru, Geetanjali has led action-research projects on the occupational mobility of waste workers and the disproportionate impacts of rising heat—highlighting the differential impact across different waste worker groups.

She has also worked as a Teaching Fellow at Ashoka University in the Departments of Sociology and Anthropology and International Relations, and was an Urban Fellow at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements.

Geetanjali holds a BA (Hons) in Political Science with a minor in International Relations, and pursued a second minor in Anthropology and Sociology along with a concentration in Media Studies during her postgraduate diploma in Advanced Studies and Research at Ashoka University.
