Profile
Arvind is a seasoned leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science with substantial experience in driving technological transformation across global organisations. His expertise lies at the vital intersection of advanced Generative AI development and the robust frameworks of governance and law required to deploy these technologies responsibly within highly regulated industries.
Currently serving as a Vice-President of Data Science at a large financial institution, Arvind leads large-scale initiatives to integrate Generative and Agentic AI, and machine learning into complex operations. He has been instrumental in architecting firm-wide AI governance processes and Model Risk Management frameworks designed to ensure compliance with evolving legal standards.
Prior to his current role, Arvind was the Director of Technology (AI) at Springer Nature Group, where he established a global AI Centre of Excellence and conceptualised and launched the group’s AI Ethics and Safety Council. His career also includes leadership positions at Affine.ai and Sabre Corporation, as well as serving as a Venture Fellow and Fractional CTO for social impact startups in the United Kingdom.
Recognised as a leading practitioner in his field, Arvind is an AI Expert for the Reserve Bank of India Innovation Hub (RBIIH) and contributes to IEEE Standards working groups focussed on the organisational governance of AI. He was honoured with the AIM 40 Under 40 Data Scientists Award and frequently speaks at international conferences on real-world AI implementations, the economics of algorithms, and AI ethics. His first book, exploring the intersections of high-stakes testing and mental health, is slated for publication in 2026.
