Profile
Nicholas is Lecturer-in-Law at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law and the Chief Executive Officer of Compliagent, a national healthcare technology and regulatory solutions firm, where he designs and maintains compliance programmes, serves as a fractional or interim Chief Compliance Officer for organisations in growth, enforcement, or M&A phases, and advises on complex issues including the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA privacy and security, the False Claims Act, governance, and board oversight.
He is also a frequent speaker, author, and expert witness in healthcare regulatory litigation. A member of the California Bar and dual-certified as a Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), he earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School (Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and Managing Editor of the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems). Earlier in his career he practiced at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP (Washington, D.C.) and Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin LLP (Los Angeles).
