Profile

Nirmalya Chaudhuri graduated with a BA LLB (Hons) degree from the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) in 2023. Immediately thereafter, he earned an LLM degree from the University of Cambridge, on a fully funded Cambridge Trust scholarship. He also worked as a Research Fellow at the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy in New Delhi, where he was actively involved in assisting various Departments of the Government of India on multiple projects involving data protection, AI regulation as well as other legal and policy issues at the intersection of law and technology.

Nirmalya’s research interests primarily involve data protection, intellectual property rights (especially copyright law), as well as constitutional questions focusing on privacy. His previous work has been published in the Indian Journal of Constitutional Law, the Oxford Human Rights Hub Blog, the European Law Blog, as well as in newspapers like the Hindu and the Telegraph.
