Hassini is an early-career researcher with a passion for advancing gender justice and inclusive development. Her interests lie in working within the paradigm of gender and sexuality at the intersection of gender justice, policy and legal reforms, and judicial efficiency. 

During her capstone project at the Greater Chennai Corporation’s Gender and Policy Lab, a research unit dedicated to gender-related issues, Hassini led a gender-focused research project on homeless families. She organized and supported a large-scale midline investigation regarding public space and transport safety for women across Chennai. Her earlier experience includes working with the Hashiya Socio-Legal Centre for Women in Ranchi, Jharkhand, where she advocated for the rights of incarcerated women.

Hassini holds an M.A. in Livelihoods with a specialization in Gender and Development from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad, and a B.A. LL.B(Hons) from SASTRA Deemed to be University.
