This is a comparative copyright law course offered in collaboration with Harvard Law School. This is an affiliate course of the CopyrightX program, offered by Prof. William Fisher and Prof. Ruth Okediji at Harvard Law School.

This course will explore different legal aspects of copyright, its impact on different fields like art, entertainment, and technology and the various debates on reforming copyright law. What makes the elective course at NLSIU unique is its equal focus on both the US Copyright law and the Indian Copyright law, so as to provide students a comparative perspective. The elective course will also  discuss copyright law from other jurisdictions, wherever relevant.

This course is considered as a regular elective course of NLSIU and the grades obtained in this course will be part of the NLSIU transcript. Apart from this, students who meet all the course requirements and pass an exam, which is primarily administered by HLS, would also receive a certificate from Harvard.
