The Course is designed to offer curious students a broad overview on gender and how gender operates in the realms of human rights and law. As a warning- the focus is quite heavily on feminism and women’s rights. However, there are also readings on masculinities and queer theory. By its very nature, this is an interdisciplinary course and guest speakers would include persons who are not trained in law and persons affected by the law. Last year, we had sex workers and family court lawyers as guest speakers. It is hoped that learnings would take place within and outside the classroom. Guest lectures may be online or in person in class.
