Profile

Betsy Rajasingh has worked as an Assistant Professor of Law at Saveetha School of Law, Chennai, where she taught courses on intellectual property law, environmental law and torts. She has also taught intellectual property law courses at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. Before transitioning to academia, she worked as a Legal Executive with Joyce A. Tan & Partners, an intellectual property boutique firm in Singapore, and as a Legal Associate with HB & Partners, Chennai, where her work focused on intellectual property and property law matters.

Intellectual property is her principal area of teaching and research interest, which led to her studying the implications of technology and law on the limits and exceptions to copyright relating to education in her PhD. The study further resulted in the publication of her book titled ‘Digital Copyright Law – A Comparative Study of the Limitations and Exceptions Relating to Education‘ with Thomson Reuters.

She had secured the overall first rank in her Bachelor of Laws programme and was awarded a full scholarship to pursue her Master of Laws at the National University of Singapore. She also has a Certificate of Proficiency in Trust Law from the Auckland University of Technology.
