Profile

Supriy Ranjan is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His doctoral work focuses on issues of Violence, Criminal Political Economy, Impunity, and Democratic Politics. The proposed title of his thesis is: “Violence, Impunity and Legitimation: Crime and Politics in Bihar”. His areas of interest include Political theory, Indian Politics and Postcolonialism.

He has previously worked as a Guest faculty at the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce and the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), University of Delhi. More recently, he served as the Project Manager for a Government of Bihar Project to rewrite the district gazetteers of two districts, Patna and Darbhanga. He has an abiding interest in understanding and explaining the messy terrain of Indian politics and writes on the same in journals, newspapers, and news portals.
