We are happy to announce that the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru has been awarded the India Today Best Colleges Award 2023! The University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Krishnaswamy received the award in the Law category from Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Education and Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, at the India Today Best Colleges Awards 2023 function in New Delhi on July 21, 2023.

In order to acknowledge the efforts and initiatives of colleges across the country, the India Today Group also organised  the India Today Education Conclave. As part of this Conclave, a Principals Roundtable discussion was held on the theme “How to Foster Excellence in Colleges”.

Speaking at the Concalve, Dr. Krisnaswamy said: “Yes, they (students) need to solve problems, not just of today, but they need to solve problems that they cannot even imagine across a lifetime. And the way we can educate them to solve these problems is to teach them foundational first principles. The approach at the National Law School is that we don’t teach a shallow version of craft… The best universities in the world teach Foundational First Principles in any field. That is what we must do. We should teach it in a problem based learning pedagogy but we must not forget that we are not just teaching to one market or another…”
