Dr. Siddarth Jain is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work sits at the intersection of the Life Sciences, Intellectual Property Law, and Science & Technology Policy. His academic formation spans multiple disciplines: he holds a B.Sc.–M.Sc. in the Life Sciences from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), (now St. Joseph’s University, Bengaluru), a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights Law from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, and an M.Phil.–Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies (STS) from the Centre for Studies in Science Policy (CSSP), Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Over the course of his career, He has been associated with a range of academic and policy organisations in capacities spanning research and consultancy. He has contributed to International Policy processes, including participation in Third World Network’s delegation to the Special Session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore at the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Geneva. More recently, he served as a Fellow with Geneva Health Files (2025–2026), where he contributed to research and analytical work on the Pandemic Treaty and Biosecurity Governance.
His scholarly interests encompass Science and Technology Studies (STS), Intellectual Property and the Governance of Biotechnology.
