Vinayashree joined NLSIU in 2020 to set up the Communications Office at the University. She has around 11 years of work experience including writing, reporting, editing, content creation, and communications. Vinaya began her career as a journalist with the The Hindu (Kasturi and Sons) and later as a Senior Correspondent with The Times of India (Bennett Coleman and Co.). Her reporting roles covered different beats, predominantly focusing on crime reporting, education, as well as human interest stories. She briefly worked with a content & design studio as a Brand Storyteller before switching to a full time communications role at NLS.

At NLSIU, Vinayashree has handled internal and external communications for nearly four years now. This includes creating, editing and monitoring of content for various channels of communication including the University’s websites, social media platforms, brochures, annual reports, and press statements.  She coordinates with several internal and external stakeholders of the University on various initiatives, projects and marketing/brand campaigns among others.

She  graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, English, and Psychology from NMKRV (RV Group), Bangalore University, following which she completed her postgraduation in Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai with a specialisation in the broadcast stream.

Vinaya is also passionate about theatre and has performed in English, Kannada and Tamil plays. She has also briefly worked with a theatre production company.
