AS THE COURSE IS MANDATORY ONE – THE ENTIRE COURSE IS BASED ON THE SUGGESTED CURRICULUM OF BCI

In NLSIU the ‘compulsory subject’ of “Law of Tort including MV Accident and Consumer Protection Laws” is taught in two cohorts viz., Tort Law – I and II.  The basic principles of tortious liability are taught, along with specific torts against human body and property are taught as part of Tort Law I.  Commencing from Defamation (Specific Tort against reputation) several advance level torts (or emerging torts like media torts, professional negligence, psychiatric illness etc.) along with statutory torts are covered in Tort II.  This division is more of administrative convenience than based on scientific criterion.

Describe your pedagogical method: lectures, socratic discussion, seminar style discussion, response papers or group work; any field work

Describe the layout of the course: module structure and sequence
