Dalit Fest 2021 | SPAC

The Savithri Phule Ambedkar Caravan, a student run committee of NLSIU, is organising Dalit Fest 2021 from April 6, 2021 until April 18, 2021. The sessions will be held as per the schedule given below:

(I) New Age of Dalit Writers: A Conversation with Yashika Dutt and Dipankar Kamble
April 6, 2021, 8 pm

The talk will be an informal conversation with the panelists, discussing the different aspects of writing as a Dalit, their books, and other issues flagged in and by their books. The event shall be held on zoom. Additionally, the talk will be live-streamed on our YouTube Page.

Panelists:
1. Ms. Yashica Dutt, alum of St. Stephens College, Delhi University and Columbia University, New York, she was recently awarded the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for her memoir Coming Out as a Dalit. She is currently working as a journalist in New York and has written on a wide range of topics including caste, fashion, gender culture, and others.
2. Mr.Dipankar Kamble is a law student who has infused newfound historical significance through his book, Dewaji- Making of an Ambedkarite Family. He is also part of the management of the Babasaheb Ambedkar Education Society, Brahamapuri. His book has been one of the most significant additions to 21st Century Dalit Literature.

SPAC intends to uphold the tradition of the annual cultural night at NLS and has organized an evening of fun for everyone. Join in to enjoy an Open Mic Event organized for the NLS Community.

(IV) SPAC X NLIU, Bhopal | Manthan Collaboration: Panel on Caste-ing Campuses: How to be an Ally?
April 17-18th, 2021

SPAC believes in engaging and igniting discourse about Bahujan matters not just within NLS but also beyond it. In our effort to start a conversation in our sister institution, SPAC has partnered with Manthan, Centre for Knowledge & Policy Discussion, National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal. The event will be held on zoom.

2. Aroh Akunth (Founder, Dalit Queer Project)
