Vidisha is an advocate and legal researcher with over four years of experience in litigation, human rights advocacy, and community engagement. Vidisha’s work has been driven by her deep commitment to social justice and institutional accountability.

Early in her career, she was involved in legal interventions addressing communal violence, custodial torture, and hate crimes. These experiences offered a grounded understanding of how the legal systems function, particularly for the marginalised and minority communities. Her approach has been shaped by not only legal training but also by lived realities.

Vidisha has since led legal and advocacy efforts in cases of caste-based gender violence across multiple States, working closely with survivors, legal teams, and grassroots networks. She has contributed to national level research and advocacy on the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and has conducted training sessions for paralegals on caste and gender justice.

At NLSIU, she will support research, policy analysis, and field coordination to strengthen the implementation of witness protection mechanisms in Karnataka.

Vidisha holds a BA LLB (Hons) from Symbiosis Law School, Pune.
