This course introduces civil aviation laws, focusing on Indian law. It is structured to address the first principles of aviation law, followed by in-depth explorations of airline regulation, aerodrome governance, domestic disputes and international conflicts in aviation and other key areas of aviation law. The course, which covers both academic and regulatory perspectives, will guide students in applying theoretical underpinnings to practical aspects. Students will design and develop guidelines and draft agreements as part of an in-class exercise during the course.
Aviation law is unique due to cooperation between countries and the harmonisation of industrial practices. Cooperation and harmony do not eliminate existing conflicts.
