Profile
Kiran has been trained as a lawyer with a specialisation in constitutional, international and comparative law. Kiran joined NLSIU as an Academic Fellow in July 2023 and was involved in both teaching and research capacities until July 2025.
His current research focusses on the regulation of political parties through constitutional frameworks in democratic systems. He is particularly interested in the intersection of constitutional law and international law, exploring issues such as the role of constitutions in strengthening international legal rules. Further, he is interested in systems reform for international law, specifically on broadening the scope of reparations to include changes to doctrine/rules profoundly shaped by former coloniser powers in the First World.
Outside of his academic work, Kiran has a deep interest in food, especially in exploring distinctive dishes and understanding their cultural significance.
