The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) invites applications for Senior Consultant – Admissions and Outreach (1 position). This is a full-time position based in Bengaluru.
About The Role
The role is responsible for leading and enhancing the university’s student recruitment and outreach strategies to attract high-quality applicants across domestic and/or international markets. This role involves managing admissions processes, developing engagement initiatives, building partnerships with schools and institutions, and enhancing the university’s visibility and brand.
This role includes strategic planning, student engagement, collaboration with schools and community organisations, and promotion of the university’s academic offerings at the national level. The role also supports the university’s mandate to ensure equitable access to higher education for students from all socio-economic backgrounds.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong communication skills, data-driven decision-making abilities, and a passion for higher education.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Engagement
- Design and lead targeted outreach campaigns to attract and engage prospective students from diverse backgrounds;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high schools, colleges, and external stakeholders;
- Organise campus tours, open houses, and virtual engagement sessions for prospective students and parents;
- Work with the communications team to create targeted communication campaigns, outreach content, and promotional materials;
- Develop compelling presentations and materials to promote the university’s programs and student experience.
Admissions
- Manage the end-to-end admissions process for undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and timelines;
- Liaise with academic departments to coordinate entrance exams, interviews, and selection criteria;
- Manage communication with applicants, grievance redressal related to admissions, and counselling support for students;
- Handle escalations and support high-value applicants through the admissions funnel;
- Manage admissions reporting, student data analytics, and application conversion metrics;
- Collaborate with faculty and academic departments on admissions requirements and applicant assessments;
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements (e.g., visas, equivalency, data protection).
Leadership & Strategy
- Contribute to the development of the university’s admissions and recruitment strategy;
- Mentor and supervise admissions and outreach team;
- Maintain a robust admissions CRM and generate regular reports for leadership;
- Analyse admissions data and market trends to inform admissions planning and policy;
- Prepare regular reports and insights for senior leadership on application trends, yield rates, and outreach impact.
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate must have the following skills and qualifications:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- Minimum 15 years of overall experience with 5+ years of experience in university admissions, student outreach, or education counselling.
- Strong understanding of the Indian higher education ecosystem, including entrance exams (CUET, JEE, CLAT, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in Hindi or other regional languages is a plus
- Willingness to travel extensively during admission cycles
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities
Desirable
- Master’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with admissions CRMs and digital engagement platforms.
