September 17, 2025

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), Shimla, successfully conducted a Management Development Programme (MDP) on Cyber Laws from September 8 to 13, 2025.

This programme was organised under the MoU between NLSIU and ARTRAC, which aims to provide training to 150 Indian Army officers over three years at the NLSIU campus. The MDP featured intensive instruction sessions by leading experts from academia and industry, combining theoretical modules with practical exercises to deepen participants’ understanding. Highlights included hands-on training in cyber forensics and digital evidence extraction at the University’s Advanced Centre on Research, Development and Training in Cyber Laws and Forensics (ACRDTCLF), alongside interactive sessions at the International Training Centre.

The programme was widely appreciated and received exceptional feedback from participants. Many officers expressed an interest in returning to NLSIU for further training and in enrolling in NLSIU’s flagship postgraduate diploma programmes in Master’s in Business Laws (MBL), Cyber Laws, Human Rights, and other specialised areas.

The programme concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony at the NLSIU Training Centre, where participants were awarded their certificates of completion. Officers who excelled in formative assessments were specially recognised for their performance. The ceremony was graced by Air Vice-Marshal Pranay K. H. Sinha, VSM (Retd.), Director of IIT Mandi iHub & HCI Foundation, who presided as the Chief Guest and awarded the certificates.

Reflecting on the workshop, the PACE team at the University said: “This initiative reaffirms NLSIU’s commitment to industry-academia collaboration, demonstrating how legal education can be customised to address the evolving needs of public institutions. We extend our gratitude to the Indian Army for this meaningful partnership and look forward to future collaborations that continue to bridge the worlds of law, policy, and practice.”
