NLSIU Research Fellowships

In 2020–21, the University developed a Grand Challenges Model of research. Five grand challenges were identified for the 21st century:

Climate Justice;
Labour and Work;
State Capacity and Reform;
Law and Technology;
Access to Justice and Legal Reform. The NLSIU Research Fellowships Programme, commencing AY 2025-26, will build and expand on the Academic Fellowship (AF) programme launched in AY 2021-22.

Visiting Scholars Programme

The Visiting Scholars Programme at NLSIU welcomes exceptional international scholars and practitioners engaged in research across law and social sciences. The aim of the programme is to enable collaborative scholarship and promote a culture of knowledge sharing across disciplines. Visiting Scholars conduct their research in collaboration with or support of the NLSIU faculty members, and participate in the broader intellectual life at NLSIU, when required.

Health Law Cluster

While NLS has a research centre dedicated to Health Law and Ethics, the University has entered into a slew of collaborations in this domain.
