Recruitment & Internships

About Career Services Office (CSO)

The Career Services Office (CSO) at National Law School of India University serves as the primary interface between students and recruiters, implementing a systematic approach to recruitment and career development. The CSO facilitates internships, graduate recruitment and industry engagement across all academic programmes while strengthening long-term partnerships with employers. Our students contribute meaningfully across sectors from law firms, corporates and start-ups to NGOs, public institutions, and civil society organisations.

Internships

Internships are a core component of the academic programmes at NLSIU and are designed to integrate classroom learning with real-world experience in diverse professional settings.

Students across the NLS BA (Hons.), BA LLB (Hons.), LLB (Hons.), and MPP programmes undertake in-person internships during the trimester breaks in February, June, and October, typically for a duration of one month. Each programme has a structured internship format and assessment framework.

5-Year BA LLB (Hons.) & 3-Year LLB (Hons.) Programmes:

Students of the BA LLB (Hons.) and LLB (Hons.) programmes typically undertake compulsory internships in the month of February. These internships carry academic credits and supervisors are required to evaluate the performance of their students.

  • All BA LLB students (across the five years) are required to undertake an internship of 20 working days in February-March every year.
  • All LLB (Hons.) students (across the three years) are required to undertake an internship of 20 working days in February-March every year.

NLS BA (Hons.) Programme:

2nd Year: Professional internship in law, consulting, media, or policy
3rd Year: Placement internship geared toward post-graduation employment

Master’s Programme in Public Policy (MPP):
