Profile

Varsha Aithala is a lawyer, teacher and researcher based at the National Law School of India University. Her teaching and research interests span the areas of social investment, law and technology, access to justice and legal system reform. Previously, she was a research fellow and faculty at the School of Policy and Governance, Azim Premji University. She began her career as a corporate lawyer and has significant practice experience in India and the United Kingdom. She worked as a senior associate at Samvād: Partners prior to joining academia. Varsha is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an advocate in India. She has a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Nalsar University of Law. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. Her doctoral work focuses on legal aid and courts in India. Varsha’s public profile is here.
