Ragini Ahuja

Ragini Ahuja joined NLSIU as Director-Clinics to design, deliver and manage the experiential learning programme at the law school. Ragini will draw from her significant litigation experience to design new clinical programmes and bring in synergies in pro bono services, externships, and other aspects of clinical education and experiential learning.

Ragini graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi followed by a Bachelor’s degree in law from University of Delhi. She has extensive experience in pro bono litigation and has litigated civil liberties and death sentence cases for close to a decade. She was a member of the Law Commission’s sub committee to review capital punishment that released its report in August 2015 (Law Commission of India, 262nd report). She was accepted to Columbia University as a LLM Human Rights Fellow where she studied at the Challenging the Consequences of Mass Incarceration Clinic, which focussed on litigation related to conditions of confinement.

Rajesh Kumar Behera

Rajesh is a Chartered Accountant with over nine years of professional experience in managing finance function for implementing financial planning & management, managing Indian GAAP accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliances, MIS management and budgeting, and building internal financial control.

Before NLSIU, he was a Partner in a finance advisory firm, and Manager-Finance at Coffee Day Group, Blackstone Group, and Raymond Group.

He joined NLSIU as Manager-Finance in October 2022. His core responsibilities at the University include Treasury Management, Controllership, and ERP implementation for finance and accounts.

Ramesh Kumar M

Ramesh Kumar M graduated with a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Bangalore University in 1990 and has been working with NLSIU since 1998.

Prior to working at NLSIU, he worked with the British Council Library and the Krishnadevaraya College Of Dental Sciences & Hospital (KCDS) Medical College Library.

In the library, he is in charge of acquisition section, textbook section, processing of bills, payment of books, newspaper clippings and classification of books. His other responsibilities include providing information regarding books and E-resources, and assigning headings for new books in NLSIU databases.

Besides working as the assistant librarian, he is also a member of the Anti-Ragging Committee of NLSIU.

Rohini T

Rohini T earned her Master’s degree in Library Science from Gulbarga University in 2006 and joined NLSIU, Bengaluru later that year. She joined as a Documentation Assistant at the Centre for Child and the Law and later worked with the Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy. She has been working with the NLSIU library since 2012.

She is in charge of the Documentation Section and Circulation Section, handles issue/return and renewal of books to NLSIU communities in Koha and NLS LIS, maintains library patrons in the Koha Library Management Software.

Her other responsibilities include working on Dspace, magazine entries, marking and scanning newspaper clippings, updating faculty publications, cataloguing materials in the Repository, and sale of NLSIU publications (preparing invoice, publication display etc.).

She is currently pursuing her PhD in Information Needs and Gathering Habits of Lawyers in the Digital Environment: A study of Lawyers of Karnataka High Court, Library Science, Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University, Vijayapura.

Rucha Zade

Rucha Zade is passionate about connecting with people and has experience in people-oriented roles.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Mount Carmel College following which she completed her post-graduation in Corporate Communication from Christ University, Bangalore.

She has honed her communication, presentation, and social skills through various internships and work experiences in media, consulting, and the IT sector. Outside of work, she enjoys being a plant mom and exploring new places in and around the city.

Sadhana E

Sadhana joined the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights and Research and Advocacy (CIPRA) at the University in March 2013. At the Centre, she maintains the accounts, and helps manage the centre’s website, along with collating the Centre’s activities with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. She works with the Centre Head, researchers, and resource persons for all programmes organised by the Centre.
She also assists the Academic Administration Department at NLSIU.

Previously, she worked as a data entry operator and QC reader at Envisage solutions and Coals solutions, Bangalore; as a Customer Care officer/Receptionist with Sterling Holiday Resorts, Bangalore; and as an Office Admin/accountant with Zhenkar Advertising, Bangalore.

Sadhana has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the SJRC College for Women, Bengaluru.

Sameerulla Z

Sameer joined NLSIU’s Finance Office in July 2013. His current responsibilities include handling the university accounts and grants; procuring and overseeing tenders and quotations for various University related matters; and coordinating with the facilities team to organise university events; etc. He has previously worked as an Accounts Assistant at Nokia.

He holds a B. Com Hons. Degree in Advanced Accountancy from Bangalore University.

Sanchet Sharma

Sanchet is an Occupational Therapist by training with an administrative background and 8 years of work experience in the field of Higher Education.

Prior to joining NLSIU, he worked with the Registrar’s Office at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, to coordinate academic administration for postgraduate students of the School of Development. He has earlier worked with the Ministry of Railways in setting up India’s first rail and transportation university at Vadodara, Gujarat. He was a part of the founding projects team at Ashoka University, Sonipat, Haryana where he worked at the Office of Outreach and Admissions.

Sanchet is a Fulbright Scholar from the University of Michigan School of Education and a graduate of the founding batch of the Young India Fellowship Programme.

Savithri Bhat

Savithri joined the University in 1995 as a stenographer. Hailing from a remote area near Sirsi where access to education was very limited, she moved to Bengaluru for the purpose of higher studies. She completed her graduation with a B.A in History, Economics and Political Science from Bangalore University in 1993. Her skills include training in Typing and Shorthand.

Prior to joining NLSIU, she worked at the Institute of Social and Economic Change, Bengaluru for a brief period. Over her nearly three decade journey at the University, she has primarily worked in the Registrar’s office and has also managed the Vice Chancellor’s for 10 years.

Seema B S

Seema has over 8 years of experience in higher education and e-commerce sectors.

Prior to joining NLSIU, she was working as an Assistant Director of Academics at Atria University where she was one of the founding members of the Academic Administration team. Previously, she has worked in Naropa Fellowship, Ladakh, Sai University, Chennai, Amazon, Bengaluru, and Infoedge, Noida in various capacities. She has juggled multiple roles in her career as an education consultant, an operations specialist, a career coach, customer service lead as well as team lead in the corporate sector.

Seema is an MBA graduate from Bangalore University and a graduate of the Young India Fellowship Programme, Ashoka University. She is also a trained Bharathnatyam dancer and Yakshagana artist, and an avid Kannada literature reader.
