This course is devoted exclusively to detailed analysis of the Fundamental Rights guaranteed under Part III of the Constitution, duly complemented by the discussion on the content of the Directive Principles of State Policy as well as their interdependence established through constitutional amendments and judicial decisions.  Through an incisive and comparative analysis of decisional laws, the students are sought to be equipped with the understanding the significance of these two parts of the Constitution and to examine the problems faced in their enforcement.  The inserted Part IV A on Fundamental Duties would also be discussed in this course in an attempt to inculcate the basic values of the Constitution towards realizing justice and good governance.

Constitutional Law II focuses generally on the relationship between the state and the individuals, the nature and extent of rights and liberties available, judicial interpretation of these rights, the Directive Principles of State Policy and the Fundamental Duties.  This course is taught in the context of social, political and economic developments taking place, both in India and in the globe.
