Elective course for LLB and Optional Course for LLM – the Course being related to cyber laws but being taught from e-commerce perspective will be helpful in understanding the related legal aspects, which is of immense importance today since today commercial as well as governance related activities are largely facilitated through cyber technology. The course was initially introduced at the law school on recommendation by UGC.

This course even though focuses largely on Information Technology [IT] Act provisions,, yet some aspects are related to various legal regime, including commerce laws, contract laws, criminal laws, etc so as to get a comprehensive understanding of such aspects. The course will include – basic technical terms and procedures so as to understand the legal provisions, principles and procedures from both technical as well as legal perspective.

Most of the readings will be from the IT Act and other related legal framework, decided cases and secondary readings on some issues.

Pedagogical method will include lectures, socratic discussion, seminar style discussion, guest lectures and group work and if possible a field visit to cyber police station / cell.
