The course on International Trade Law is designed to provide the students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal aspects governing cross-border business transactions. It has components of private international law (or conflict of laws) of foreign trade and the two important public international regimes regulating trade and investments across borders. The course begins by introducing the students to fundamental concepts and principles of transnational commercial law, including international sales, carriage of goods and commercial dispute resolution. The course further introduces the legal framework of the world trading system by examining the key topics of the law of the WTO. The final module of the course explores the international legal protection of investment flows.
