Two objectives: The first is to teach current topics and methods in public finance and budgeting. The second is to nurture capacity for academic research and policy formulation.  Students should be able to understand and contribute to Public Finance and Budgeting.

Other references and readings shall be assigned during the course of the trimester

Each student to make a short presentation to the class (not more than SIX slides) on an article, or working paper or research publication in the fields of Public Economics / Public Finance / Taxation, to bring out the research question or hypothesis of the article; how it pushes frontiers of knowledge; what use / application it may have etc. It should be a critical review of the article.
