Sociology-II is a core course. It develops on Sociology-I (core course from Trimester-I)

Sociology-I ended with an introduction to the classical sociological theorists–Comte, Marx, Durkheim, and Weber. Sociology-II gives their interpretation of capitalism, along with its implications and consequences on various social aspects such as economy, bureaucracy, deviance, and gender, and a myriad combination of the above four. The course would also include two field trips to an organisation in Bengaluru.

A combination of lectures and Socratic discussion. Apart from the readings listed below, the lectures would discuss fiction and non-fiction literature, short films, documentaries, and movies. The course would have four modules.
