Profile

With a background in Literature, Drama and Cultural Studies, Diksha has taught in English Departments of various colleges at Delhi University. She has been a theatre facilitator, practitioner and performer in Delhi with an activist theatre group (‘Pandies Theatre’) for more than 15 years.

Her M.Phil. research mapped the feminist theatrical interventions in Delhi from 1970s to 2012. The research into feminist theatre and the debates between Feminist, Marxist and Nationalist discourses in India made her curious about the intersections between law and theatre. She is currently working on her interdisciplinary PhD thesis which explores the intersections between Theatre and the Law by analysing theatre practices which come in conflict with the Law. Exploiting the critical and progressive lens of interdisciplinarity, she has been designing and curating elective courses on Theatre and the Law for LLB students as part of her research.
