In this course students will learn and practice state-of-the-art econometric techniques for handling microeconomic data for public policy. The focus will be on most popular techniques to estimate causal effects of policies, interventions and other factors. As a result, students will learn how, when, and under what assumptions they can use the different method. This Elective course will have 3 parts/modules. First part will have refresher sessions on basic statistics and econometrics learnt in trimester 1 and 2. Module 2 will focus on experimental design and Module 3 will focus on quasiexperimental techniques. Every session will have application-based exercise using Stata.
