The aim of the course is to highlight the emerging issues in the current theories and practice of human rights. It is designed to complement the other core courses that are taught to the students of the human rights specialism in the LLM programme. It hopes to provoke students to critical engage with and apply the theories of human rights to the emerging and ongoing global issues today.

As the course is delivered online, teaching will include zoom lectures along with other online tools such as breakout rooms, chats and polling to promote discussion and debate. Students will be given reading material for the classes and will be instructed at the end of each lecture, the reading requirements for the next class. The course relies on primary and secondary materials.
