This course will acquaint students with the basic instruments of economics and the methodology of the economic analysis of law. In the process it will deal with application to diverse areas of law. Economics as a behavioural science helps to provide a positive and normative analyses of the law. While its assumption that firms and individuals are rational helps in prediction, it may not always hold and hence a quick understanding of behavioral economics and its implications for analyses of the law will also be discussed.
