Taxation Law is a core course for the LL.M in Business Laws programme. It is a standalone course that includes on the law of direct and indirect taxation in India and international taxation (as is relevant to Indian legal practice).

The Taxation Law Course aims to critically examine Indian tax law and policy from a domestic and comparative perspective. The course is designed for graduate students to study the foundational principles that may be applied in private legal practice, policymaking and academic research. The course aims to:

• Develop legal analytical skills in the application of Indian tax law; and

• Explore both the practical issues and broader policy issues likely to arise in the application of Indian tax law.
